Founded in 2008 and officially recognized in 2007, the Association of Working Children and Youth (AEJT) is a community-based NGO committed to promoting and protecting the rights of vulnerable children and youth in the DRC. We support working children, those with disabilities, and marginalized youth through education, training, health, protection, and socio-professional integration programs.

Rooted in community solidarity, AEJT acts where vulnerability is greatest. Through education, health care, legal protection, peace awareness, and youth empowerment, we help children and young people break the cycle of poverty and exclusion—building a resilient, just, and thriving society.
Created in 2008 and officially recognized in 2017, the Association of Working Children and Youth (AEJT) is a community-based organization in the DRC. Born from a context of humanitarian and social crisis, it supports vulnerable children and youth through programs in education, health, protection, and socio-economic inclusion.
With over 612 members, 15 cooperatives, and 10 local groups, AEJT promotes solidarity, peace, and self-reliance, working to build a just and inclusive society.
AEJT promotes and defends the fundamental rights of vulnerable children and youth in the DRC by offering educational, social, economic, and cultural support. Our mission is to improve their living and working conditions through access to education, vocational training, health, protection, awareness, and income-generating activities.
AEJT envisions a fair, inclusive, and united society where all children—regardless of background or disability—enjoy their rights fully and become educated, autonomous, and agents of positive change.

Help create fair and resilient communities by supporting AEJT’s efforts in education, health, protection, and sustainable youth development across Eastern Congo.
