Promoting digital education for girls in order to reduce inequalities in access to employment and strengthen their competitiveness in the labor market

In Uvira, the AWCY-RDC is actively engaged in promoting digital education for girls in order to reduce inequalities in access to employment and strengthen their competitiveness in the labor market. Aware of the obstacles young girls face, including a lack of technical skills and limited access to technology, the organization has set up a training program in basic IT tools.

This program offers participants practical skills in Excel, Word, Windows as well as an introduction to using the Internet. The objective is to provide these young girls with the essential knowledge enabling them to meet the demands of the modern professional world and seize new economic opportunities.

Thanks to this initiative, 25 girls have already been trained in Uvira. Beyond technical learning, this training strengthens their self-confidence and their ability to integrate into an increasingly digitalized work environment. It also constitutes an important lever for their empowerment and social inclusion.

Through this project, the AWCY-RDC demonstrates its commitment to promoting inclusive education adapted to current realities. By investing in girls' digital skills, the organization helps build a generation capable of meeting the challenges of the future and actively participating in the development of their communities.
