Conservation of Biodiversity
AEJT - DRC is committed to biodiversity conservation and the protection of threatened ecosystems in the Uvira and Fizi region of the DRC. We actively work to safeguard emblematic species such as the hippopotamus, through a participatory approach based on the involvement of local communities, particularly young people, women, and traditional authorities. Our interventions combine environmental awareness, securing land tenure in natural habitats, strengthening local capacities, and promoting sustainable income-generating activities. We aim for harmonious coexistence between human populations and wildlife, with a view to sustainable development.
