Fight against early child marriage
The AWJT – DRC works to prevent and reduce early marriage, which violates children's fundamental rights and hinders their development. The program organizes awareness campaigns targeting families, communities, and local authorities to change practices and mentalities. It actively engages customary and religious leaders to strengthen community adherence to child-protective norms. Girls' clubs are set up in schools and communities to promote education, self-confidence, and knowledge of rights. Finally, survivors receive psychosocial, educational, and legal support, promoting their social reintegration and personal development.
